Apple announced a major overhaul of the iPod and slashed the price of the iPhone. Upgrades to the iPod include more storage, bigger screens, and a new ‘iPod Touch’ model featuring the iPhone’s multitouch interface, built-in Wi-Fi and the Safari Internet browser, and ability to play YouTube videos.

NBC’s DotComedy.com site announced an agreement with technology provider HIRO Media to distribute free, ad-supported downloads of its comedy programming. In a deal brokered by William Morris Digital, HIRO’s service will let DotComedy.com monetize free-to-download programs by including protected ads that play in-show.

NBC Universal has added Saturday Night Live sketches to the 12 other shows it has made available for download through Apple’s iTunes video store. The sketches are bundles in 3 categories: “Best of SNL” (1-hour collections of sketches by individual performers), “Sketches” (offers individual sketches), and “Commercial Parodies.”

NBC UNIVERSAL’S BRAVO ON WEDNESDAY joined the flock of networks now selling shows a la carte on Apple’s iTunes music store. Sony’s next-generation PSP is expected to include a digital video camera and allow users to stream live video to the PlayStation 3. The feature, will utilize the PSP’s Wi-Fi support and be promoted as the new way to chat with friends while on the go.
