Apple announced a major overhaul of the iPod and slashed the price of the iPhone. Upgrades to the iPod include more storage, bigger screens, and a new ‘iPod Touch’ model featuring the iPhone’s multitouch interface, built-in Wi-Fi and the Safari Internet browser, and ability to play YouTube videos.

The NPD Group reported that peer-to-peer usage was up 14 percent in November 2003 from September, after 6 months of declines in digital file sharing. Usage began dropping in April 2003 when the RIAA began filing the first of more than 300 lawsuits against individual file sharers.
