MySpace Debuts AFTERWORLD Online Animated Series
MySpace has debuted one of the most ambitious Internet shows to date with the launch of “Afterworld, ” an online animated series about a man who wakes up to find most of the world’s population has vanished.
“Afterworld” spans 130 episodes, each lasting 2 to 3 minutes — and was created by Electric Farm Entertainment for $3-million, the most expensive online series yet to run on MySpace. MySpace TV is initially releasing the first 10 episodes, and will release new episodes daily for several weeks. MySpace draws more than 115 million active users worldwide each month.
Several “Afterworld” episodes have previously premiered on Budweiser’s bud.tv and on a YouTube channel, where the show has drawn more than 1 million views.

Electric Farm shares in the ad revenue MySpace generates from the show — and has sold international television, Internet, mobile and gaming rights to Sony Pictures International, which helped finance the project and has produced 13 half-hour episodes now airing on the Sci-Fi Channel in Australia. The show will also air on TV and mobile phones in several other countries.
