Veoh TV Launches DVR for Web Video

Veoh Networks  released a free downloadable software application that finds videos from anywhere on the Web and saves them, for playback back in much the look and feel of traditional TV.

The software will display full screen streaming video that will include whatever advertising the publisher has inserted.  Veoh TV offers an ad-supported program guide featuring channels of user-generated videos from YouTube and others; as well as full-length episodes streamed by ABC, Fox, and other networks.

The service allows users to save videos from sites that allow downloading.  Veoh plans to sell additional in-stream and interstitial ads around videos, and is in discussions to share revenue with content providers.
