Internet TV Startup to Launch Series of Micro-Networks

Posted on March 9, 2007. Filed under: Consumer-Generated, Internet TV, Programming |

Startup Web video company Next New Networks disclosed plans to launch 3 niche online video “micro-networks” per month over the next 5 years.

The company is targeting toward small, passionate micro-communities on the Web with programming consisting of short-form, network-produced, and user-contributed video — with distribution plans to include iTunes and YouTube.

Six initial micro-networks include an animated Channel Frederator, auto-oriented Fast Lane Daily and VOD Cars, and do-it-yourself fashion-themed Threadbanger. Next up is the political Veracifier, a daily show hosted by “Talking Points Memo” blognosticator Joshua Micah Marshall.
